During the month of April, current MODG Senior Hope Nytes embarked on a difficult but incredibly rewarding mission– she was committed to bringing St. Carlo Acutis’ complete Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit to her home parish. Months of preparation and an 800 mile road trip went into the project. For many, this would be a daunting task, yet all the hard work paid off on April 20, as the exhibit was temporarily installed at her parish, St. John the Evangelist in Warrenton, VA. 

Organized alphabetically by country, the exhibit itself features the panels for each Eucharistic Miracle on St. Carlo Acutis’ famous website. All the Church-approved Miracles are shown, totalling 154 miracles from nearly all the continents. Additionally, a generous parishioner loaned the parish a group of first-class relics of St. Carlo, specially for the exhibit.

I asked Hope if anything particularly memorable happened in connection with the exhibit. “Actually,” she said, “the second graders just made their First Communion and they were all talking about how, ‘Now we really know that it’s Jesus!’ ” Through the exhibit, Eucharistic miracles which happened centuries ago, as well as ones from recent years, continue to impact all who encounter them. “The parish was super blessed,” Hope said afterwards. “Many people were telling us it was like a mini retreat for them and that they really needed to be at the exhibit.” In total, 896 people attended the three-day event.

In the wake of the nationwide, three-year Eucharistic Jubilee (2022-2024/5), St. Carlo’s monumental project continues to have an enormous impact on the faith life of many Catholics. Eucharistic miracles, which stun the senses and challenge the intellect, are yet another proof of God’s never-ending love for us. Hope’s project brought this point home in a memorable way. Our Eucharistic Lord is always ready to welcome us– come, let us adore Him!
