The 2026 Winter Olympics was hosted by the cities of Milan and Cortina, Italy and occurred over the last two weeks. This was the first year in history, that the Olympics were co-hosted by two different cities. This event began with the opening ceremony which took place primarily at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. Other parts of the ceremony took place in Livigno, Predazzo and Cortina, Italy. The 116 Olympic events took place throughout Italy. They began on February 7 and continued until the 22. These events consisted of 8 different Olympic sports and 16 different disciplines. 2,900 athletes from 93 different countries competed in this Olympics, including 232 from the U.S. Norway won the most medals with a total count of 44, 18 being gold.  The U.S came in second with a total of 33 medals, 12 being gold. The Olympics then concluded with the closing ceremony on February 22. This was held in the Arena di Verona in Verona, Italy. This Winter Olympics was truly incredible and all people across the world can’t wait to see what is in store for the next Winter Olympics.
