As a high schooler, my life is filled with noise, chaos, and stress. It is very hard to find a moment to breathe and just reset, and it was impossible until my family found the Latin Mass. Once we started to attend the Latin Mass (TLM), I found peace and a calmness that I had not had before. Going to Sunday mass and sitting in the quiet with the priest praying in latin, to truly feels that Jesus is in the sacristy.
The Norvus Ordo has its own beauties but there is something so other worldly about the TLM. It is quiet, respectful, and it is not something that the congregation participates in, but rather we are lucky enough to witness the divine interaction between the priest and God and are able receive our Savior in the Holy Sacrament.
The TLM is not only sacred and reverent but it is also the original form of the mass! All the great saints, like Saint Augustine and Saint Therese of Avila, attended this form of the mass, the saints who died for their faith would go to the TLM and it has remained unchanged since those times. How beautiful is that?
Tradition, sacred language, and old religion is what the TLM stands for. It is a reverent service in which the congregation actually feels like Christ is present. The TLM is being banned and forbidden in many churches around the world, and why? It is something so sacred and divine that inspires many vocations and it has kept alive the history of the church. The Ancient Rite is not something that should be taken away, it should be protected and practiced all over the world.
