This Day in History
For all MODG students currently learning medieval history, this day has a special significance.
It was on this day, October 14, 680 A.D., that the Visigothic king Wamba lost consciousness and sank into a coma.
Those around him thought he was dying and tonsured him, as was customary.
Then, however, Wamba woke up, and it turned out he was not dying at all.
According to the rules of the time, however, no one tonsured could hold the throne, and so the hero of our tale resigned the throne and retired to a monastery for the rest of his life.
