The First 100 Days of President Donald J. Trump: Week 10

The 10th week of Donald Trump’s Presidency saw him and his wife meeting with Jordan royalty and the President of the People’s Republic of China. See below for more highlights from Trump’s 10th week in office:

Saturday, 4/1: We have no news on the President from this Saturday, but Vice President Pence spoke to the people of Ohio.

Sunday, 4/2: President Trump approved the California Disaster Declaration.

Monday, 4/3: President Trump had a bilateral meeting with President Al Sisi of Egypt. He also proclaimed April 2nd-8th to be National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Additionally, he announced his intention to nominate Dan R. Brouillette to the Department of Energy and signed H.J.Res 69, H.J.Res 89, H.R. 1228, and S.J.Res. 34 into law. Also today, Judge Neil Gorsuch was confirmed to the Supreme Court by the Senate Judiciary Committee. His nomination would now be voted upon by the full Senate body.

Tuesday, 4/4: President Trump hosted a CEO town hall on the American business climate and spoke at the 2017 North American’s Building Trades Unions National Legislative Conference. He also met with the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt; the Secretary of the Treasury, Steve Mnuchin; and with the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Ben Carson. President Trump also nominated Sigal Mandelker to be Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Crimes and Heath P. Tarbert to be Assistant Secretary of the Treasury.

Wednesday, 4/5: President Trump and the First Lady welcomed King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan to the White House; President Trump had meetings and a luncheon with King Abdullah II.

Thursday, 4/6: President Trump and Vice President Pence spoke at the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride Event. President Trump and the First Lady also had dinner with President Xi Jimping and Madame Peng Liyuan of the People’s Republic of China. President Trump also sent three nominations to the Senate: Makan Delrahim to be Assistant Attorney General, Eric D. Hargan to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services, and David L. Norquist to be Under Secretary of Defense. He also proclaimed April 7th as Education and Sharing Day.
